the hassled

|
the commute home today was quite unnerving.

i am a meticulous passenger. it's not that i am very sensitive to different factors. i just want my commute home to be carefree and of less hassle.

however, the time i fear has come.

on the first jeepney ride, the worst came first - a smoker. i really hate smokers and their smell. i have to note that this passenger is very much like a real live cigarette for smelling like one. but, i guess he smelled stronger. UGH.

the worst part is that he sat beside me while he finished his stick. the jeep wasn't moving yet. i know that there's a law that states that it is illegal to smoke inside a public utility vehicle. i might research that and use it to my advantage. i really do hope that these laws be properly regulated. if they don't know it yet, second hand smoke also kills.

on another jeepney and the tricycle, i've come across deaf drivers. i don't know why i was a bit irritated. i mean, i think that it should be in a requirement for drivers to have their ears at full health. how would they be able to give change? how would they know where their passengers will alight? how would they know if there is something happening inside the jeepney that shouldn't happen? right?

the old woman who paid was ticked off by the deaf-ness of the driver. she was continuously repeating what she said and in the end, she just shouted. i mean, it's like a bomb exploding, literally. i just didn't want the stress of passengers shouting inside the jeepney.

the other one was the tricycle driver who made me repeat my destination. the hard part was he was saying things that does not sound like the thing i am saying. does "ipil" sound like "east drive" to you?

also, i have a pet peeve regarding trike drivers who ask me whether to turn right or left when we are nearing dao. i am telling them that my destination is "east drive lampas ng dao". EAST DRIVE is my destination and the next three words just points to the reference that my house is on east drive past dao street. east drive is such a long street to pinpoint the exact location of my house.

in the end, no matter how much i would want to have that stress-free commute home, i should always remember that this is the Philippines. i might have given up every hope of changing this country's transport culture.

but, one man can't do that job.

it's already September! and i have a lot of catching up to do.

and, i can't wait to watch FAME. :D

hysterical

|
i know we all have things to do and sometimes our time might be a little bit short to do all of them.

however, what i want to say is that we should never promise to do things we cannot really do. more over, we must not tell people we did things we didn't.

the fact that it happened more than once is very alarming. it's just pains me to be burdened by cramming and whatnot when i am not who is the reason of all these.

i do not feel superior. in fact, i am attached to the situation than ever. there could be friendships that may be scarred and reputations lost. i am attached because i am in the direct line of possible effects.

abstraction

|
today is like blah.

i do not know what is happening. nor do i have any idea why it happens. i am feeling like im blind, deaf and incapacitated all at once.

the silence kills me and so does the noise.

it was a good thing i had something to do to keep my mind off things.

i am hoping for a better week.

and a UP win against DLSU on Thursday.

i am a bit worried.

i might be wearing out my body little by little everyday. now, i have these swollen ankles. well, they are not that swollen anymore. but, i reinjured the torn ligament i had two weeks ago.

also, i do not eat the amount of food in proportion to the nergy i expend. i should be eating more or be active less.

i'll start this tomorrow. :)

craved

today, i craved.

Thank You to Hasloo for the logo. :)

i have been wanting to eat carrot cake for quite some time now. ever since i saw Camille eat it at the tambayan, i've been looking for a place to buy some.

today was my lucky day. i was able to convince some friends, Icy and Patag, to eat at Chocolate Kiss Cafe for me to have my slice of carrot cake.

ChocKiss, as it is fondly called, is found at The Bahay ng Alumni. it has a nice ambiance when it is not full. the downside is that the room is a bit cold if the number of customers is small.

anyway, it is always a nice experience when dining in ChocKiss. the service is good but the food is a bit pricey for a restaurant situated inside a school campus. however, what you pay for is definitely worth it.

for lunch, i had Salisbury Steak. it might be one of the best i've tasted. it was a big serving - something restaurant food lacks these days. also, it was so tender. i was not really sure about the garnish. at first, i thought it was deep-fried garlic but it did not taste like that. anyway, the added mystery made it more delicious. the button mushrooms were gigantic! :))

for dessert, i had my carrot cake. what i enjoyed most about it is that the cream cheese, which is a small part of the cake, carried majority of the sugar content. the cake itself was so chewy and had real carrot grinds. i felt like i'm in heaven.

i had lunch for almost 3 hours, 1-4pm, because we were also there to talk about school work. i was so full that i need not eat before volleyball training at 6. in fact, i was still full by the time i arrived home.

next time, i might order Beef Stroganoff. the best i've tasted so far is from Wok This Way which coincidentally offers the best sisig with egg. :)

and, this is why everybody wonders why i don't get fat.

toxic passenger

tonight, on my way home, i encountered this woman.

we didn't have any direct interaction with each other. the only thing common between us is that we shared the same jeepney.

it would be more accurate to say the she was there before me. and, i never knew all of the experiences she had inside the jeepney before our eventual meeting.

i did not have enough information for me to judge her as a person. but, there times that when a person speaks we can deduce the way of thinking that he/she has.

when it is about time for her to alight the vehicle, he pulled the rope to signal the driver of her intentions. the driver stepped on the brake pedal for the jeep to stop. however, i do not think that the woman received this very well as she tumbled towards the front end of the vehicle. it was a good thing that there were people inside to stop her from rolling continuously.

this was quite a funny-yet-awkward sight since there were no other people whose body reacted the way hers did.

on her way down the jeep, she shouted to the driver:

Manong, ano ba?! Lasing ka ba? Kanina ka pa brake ng brake ah.

this signified that she was not happy with what just happened. and, so was i.

i wanted to alight from the jeepney and follow her. i wanted to lecture her about inertia and momentum. i would like to have told her that it was better that the vehicle's brake mechanism works.

however, my mind tells me that i shouldn't be like her. we shouldn't all be.

so, what have i got for you today.

nothing, at all.

the day is so-so. what i like about the day is that the rain is a bit light. it is the kind of rain that makes me happy. :)

in good moderation

im so sorry that i am not able to blog for the past few days.

and, as you've read the latest entry i've made myself a living home for the flu virus. it's a good thing that i didn't develop the dreaded swine flu.

i am happy that i am well in time for the start of class. the sickness might be the hidden blessing behind the suspension of classes.

actually, i never get sick when classes are on going. so, i personally think that this is the sickness i've been waiting for.

anyway, i now know the reason why i got sick in the first place: FRUITS!

i really love fruits. they are my natural sources of vitamins i need to make my immune system strong. i especially like citrus ones like ponkan, sunkist and orange - all three are different members of the orange family.

one cannot also remove the watermelon, melon, strawberry, lychee, mango and tamarind from the list.

today, when i got home, i was really happy. on our dining table sits our "fruit basket" with an awfully large number of fruits.

it was like a perfect ending to a semi-tiring day. :)

extension fail

this extended vacation did not do me any good.

right now, my throat hurts when i cough and my head is like being banged on a wall multiple times a day. i have developed what we call a flu.

thank you to Vi.Sualize.Us for the picture

oh no. i do not have swine flu. :) pero, i am really praying that i don't have that kind of disease. but, i don't show the symptoms of the said ailment. good thing.

now, i am stuck at home, unable to "enjoy" the remaining days of vacation.

it's a good thing i have Scrubs here with me.

i cannot find anything to do tonight.

i figured, i would like to watch Bleach and remember what happened. it has been two years since the performance. i forgot what the story is all about. :D

however, i weaved my way into asian novelas. and, now, i end up watching Why Why Love, instead.

culinary adventure

|
i may have spoken too soon.

the uneventful evening turned out to be a culinary adventure for me.

i am fascinated by the culinary arts. i do not think that i have the talent for that even though i've made delicious food in the past. i am the experimenter and i do not stick to recipes. of course, i look at recipes for guidance but i know i have to put my own twist into it.

so, i end up making herbal pasta and italian ampalaya. haha. must have been cool for other to try.

anyway. i prepared soup for dinner. kasi tatlo lang kaming magdi-dinner dito - si tito, ako at si mama. it has been a habit that every meal should have sabaw para hindi mahirap kumain.

i decided to make corn soup. and, only because it was the first ingredient i found. and it was the sweet canned one. :D

the recipe also required chicken broth. since walang chicken broth dito sa bahay, i bought a Knorr chicken cube. haha. resourceful, eh?

the other ingredients can be easily found in a kitchen like salt, pepper, spices, eggs, water and constarch.

wanna see the final product?

i am really sorry for the sucky photos. im using the phone camera for this. and, that is all i have.

i'll have a better camera soon. haha.

and, the adventure does not stop here. there is a supplement to this. something i didn't want to happen but it did.

hello big mound of rock salt.

if my tito sees this he might kill me. might because he owes me for cleaning the house early this morning. haha.

i have to clean up the place now. baka abutan pa nila. i might eat salt for the rest of my life. :D

uneventful

|
my afternoon is uneventful.

nothing new. just plain work.

i tried to watch DVDs but nothing works anymore. haha. i've tried four. and, after that i gave up and watched UAAP reruns on Studio 23 instead.

i watched the almost-win of UP against FEU. it was 71-70. it was a good game. but definitely a losing cause for UP. i hope that next the next UAAP will be a good campaign. and, so does other sports.

my head is spinning. i wish i could play volleyball now.
